Ratingen, Germany, 1 July 2026 – Today marks 40 years since FUJIFILM Corporation first introduced QuickSnap™, the world’s first single-use camera. To celebrate this anniversary, FUJIFILM Europe is announced its expansion of the QuickSnap™ lineup with two new models: the waterproof QuickSnap Active™ and the black-and-white film QuickSnap Black and White™. QuickSnap Active™ and QuickSnap Black and White™ are scheduled to be available from September 2026 onward.

QuickSnap™ marks 40 years since launch in 1986
Launched in July 1986, QuickSnap™ was developed with the concept of enabling anyone to take photos easily, anytime and anywhere. It broadened the role of photography beyond capturing special occasions such as travel and events, making it possible to casually document everyday life and helping to extend photographic culture to a wider community.

1.7 billion units sold worldwide and growing interest from new generations
Over the past four decades, QuickSnap™ has sold more than 1.7 billion units worldwide. In an era dominated by smartphones and instant sharing, its unique characteristics — from the anticipation of not knowing how photos will turn out until development, to the distinctive, atmospheric quality of the images — continue to appeal to a wide range of users. Gen-Z and Gen-A are rediscovering QuickSnap™ as a simple, tangible way to enjoy photography, with an element of “delayed gratification” that contrasts with always-on digital media. At this anniversary milestone, Fujifilm is launching QuickSnap Active™ and QuickSnap Black and White™, which further expand the range of shooting scenes and creative expression with QuickSnap™.

“Reaching 40 years of QuickSnap™ is a significant milestone for Fujifilm and for photo film fans around the world. In a world where almost everything is instant and on-screen, QuickSnap™ is all about the joy of delayed gratification — taking a shot, putting the camera down, and staying in the moment. When the photos come back, you get to relive the experience all over again. By adding to our line-up with the new QuickSnap Active™ and QuickSnap Black and White™, we’re giving a new generation simple, creative tools to step away from screens, enjoy the slower pace of film, and reintroduce a sense of balance into their digital lives.”
