FUJIFILM AUSTRALIA LAUNCHES NEW FUJINON LENS GF19-35mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR

SYDNEY, 9 JULY 2026 - FUJIFILM Australia Pty Ltd announces the launch of the “FUJINON GF19-35mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR” (GF19-35mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR), a new interchangeable lens for the GFX Series equipped with a large format*1 sensor approximately 1.7 times larger than a 35mm full-frame sensor. The product will be available for purchase from 23 July, 2026.

The GF19-35mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR is the second power zoom*2 lens in the GF lens lineup, offering a focal length of 19–35mm (equivalent to 15–28mm in 35mm format). It combines excellent operability for filmmaking production with high build quality. The lens inherits the operability and design of the Premista Series*3 while adopting a configuration optimised for power zoom and a DC motor, achieving a lightweight design of approximately 2.1 kg. When used with the FUJIFILM GFX ETERNA 55, it supports efficient and high-quality filmmaking workflows.

In recent years, filmmaking production requires both workflow efficiency and high image quality. Together with the GF32-90mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR, this lens enables coverage from ultra-wide-angle to standard ranges, while identical dimensions allow efficient lens changes using common accessories.

The GF19-35mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR achieves high resolution comparable to a prime lens, despite being a zoom lens, by minimising optical aberrations to the utmost degree. When paired with the GFX Series, it enables high-quality video expression that fully leverages the system’s superior tonal gradation and exceptional detail reproduction.

In addition, the lens maintains a bright maximum aperture of T3.5 throughout the zoom range, allowing for precise exposure control in line with the creator’s intent.

Furthermore, it delivers consistent colour reproduction and tonal characteristics with the GF32-90mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR, enabling seamless integration when both lenses are used within the same production, thereby improving efficiency in post-production workflows.

When used in combination, the GFX ETERNA 55, GF32-90mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR and GF19-35mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR enables a streamlined shooting style that minimises both equipment requirements and crew workload. This combination not only enhances production efficiency but also significantly expands creative flexibility, opening up new possibilities in filmmaking.

“Fujifilm is proud to introduce the FUJINON GF19-35mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR to the GFX ETERNA 55 filmmaking lineup”, said Shaun Mah, General Manager, Electronic Imaging & Optical Devices Division, FUJIFILM Australia.

“Combining an ultra wide focal range, cinema style operability and exceptional image quality, this new power zoom lens gives filmmakers greater creative flexibility while supporting more efficient production workflows. Together with the GF32-90mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR, it provides a versatile lens solution for large format filmmaking.”

*1 An image sensor with a diagonal length of 54.8 mm (43.8 mm × 32.9 mm), offering approximately 1.7 times the area of a 35mm full-frame sensor.

*2 Power zoom control is supported only on the GFX ETERNA 55 and GFX100 II.

*3 The Premista Series consists of zoom lenses designed for large-format cinema cameras, enabling high-quality filmmaking, and includes models covering wide-angle, standard, and telephoto ranges.

1FUJINON GF19-35mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR Product Features

Constant T3.5 power zoom lens for filmmaking

  • The lens features a focal length range of 19–35mm (equivalent to 15–28mm in the 35mm format), covering ultra-wide to wide-angle perspectives, and is designed as a power zoom lens for filmmaking. When paired with the GFX ETERNA 55, it enables electronic zoom control directly from the camera.
  • The lens features a sophisticated optical construction of 23 elements in 15 groups, including four ED elements and three aspherical elements. By optimally arranging each element to maximise its respective characteristics, optical aberrations are effectively suppressed. This design enables the lens to maintain a constant T3.5 aperture throughout the zoom range while delivering high resolution, all within a compact form factor.

Combines cinema-style operability with a lightweight design for reduced fatigue during extended filmmaking

  • Utilising advanced manufacturing technologies cultivated through decades of cinema lens development, along with a rear-focusing system, the lens achieves a compact and lightweight design, approximately 222 mm in length and 2.1 kg in weight, despite being a large-format-compatible power zoom lens.
  • Equipped with independent control rings for focus, zoom, and iris, enabling manual operation of each function. All rings adopt the standard 0.8M gear pitch*4 used in FUJINON cinema lenses, ensuring compatibility with industry-standard accessories such as follow focus systems and lens motors.
  • The focus ring features a wide 200-degree rotation angle, enabling precise focusing with smooth torque even in shallow depth-of-field scenarios.
  • The supplied handle of GFX ETERNA 55 enables control of focus, zoom, and iris via both the camera body and the multi-function dial. In addition, it supports constant-speed focus and zoom settings on GFX ETERNA 55, facilitating efficient one-person operation.
  • The lens is designed with identical exterior dimensions to the GF32-90mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR, enabling shared accessories for seamless rig setups. In addition, the operability of zoom and focus functions is standardised between the two lenses.

Exceptional optical performance supported by advanced optical design technologies

  • Nano GI coating technology suppresses flare and ghosting caused by light entering the lens at oblique angles while reducing reflection loss and increasing light transmission to deliver a clear, high-quality image.
  • Leveraging proprietary optical design technologies and an optimised internal lens configuration, the lens suppresses focus breathing—sudden changes in angle of view during focusing—to ensure stable framing.
  • The lens features a 13-blade aperture that achieves a near-circular iris, maintaining round bokeh even when slightly stopped down from wide open. This allows for beautifully rendered out-of-focus highlights, even in low-light scenes with point light sources.

Delivers powerful image stabilisation and fast, smooth, high-precision autofocus

  • The lens improves image stabilisation performance by enhancing motion-sensing accuracy and optimising the stabilisation mechanism, enabling dynamic imagery that fully leverages the distinctive perspective of a wide-angle lens in handheld shooting, including when using a gimbal.
  • The lens drives the motors at high speed in direct response to the operation of the focus, zoom, and iris rings, achieving both excellent responsiveness to ring inputs and highly accurate positional control.
