SYDNEY, 3 August 2026: To celebrate World Photography Day, the viral Colour Hunt trend is stepping off social media and onto the streets of Sydney, with Fujifilm House of Photography inviting Sydneysiders to experience the creative challenge for themselves through two complimentary guided photography walks.
According to new national research commissioned by FUJIFILM Australia, Forest Green and Cobalt Blue are the colours Australians have captured more than any other in 2026. Almost half (49%) say Forest Green has appeared as the top colour in their camera roll and in their social feeds this year, followed by Cobalt Blue at 39% - well ahead of trend-led shades including Butter Yellow (22%) and Merlot Red (19%).*
In response to the findings, FUJIFILM Australia is inviting participants to put colour at the centre of their photography through a hands-on Colour Hunt experience. The guided photo walk will begin inside the Fujifilm House of Photography, where participants will get their hands on a Fujifilm camera before joining Henry C, a photographer known for his bold and dramatic colour work, for a practical workshop inside the studio.
Using lighting and props inspired by the session’s featured colour, participants will learn how to capture bold, vibrant shades through light, composition and camera settings before putting their new skills into practice. The workshop will also explore how Fujifilm’s renowned colour science helps photographers reproduce colour with depth, authenticity and emotion.
From there, the group will head into Sydney CBD on a guided Colour Hunt, searching for the featured shade across architecture, fashion, cafés, street art and everyday moments. Along the way, participants will be able to experiment with Fujifilm cameras and receive real-time advice from Henry C. Back at the Fujifilm House of Photography, participants will be able to print their favourite image at the print station and take home a complimentary photo print.
Those who share an original Colour Hunt image on Instagram, tag @fujifilmx_au and use #greenblooded and #FujifilmColourHunt will also go into the running to win a FUJINON XF35mmF2 R WR Black Lens valued at RRP $699, while three runners-up will each receive a $100 Fujifilm House of Photography Gift Card.**
Colour plays an increasingly important role in how Australians capture and share everyday moments. Drawing on more than 90 years of colour expertise, Fujifilm is using its research findings to encourage Australians to look more closely at the colours around them and explore how colour can transform the stories they tell through photography.
The Colour Hunt brings Fujifilm's renowned colour science to life through a hands-on experience, helping photographers of all levels better recognise, understand and capture colour in their everyday surroundings as part of this year's World Photography Day celebrations.
Places in the complimentary Fujifilm Colour Hunt sessions on Saturday 22 August 2026 are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis via link. A waitlist will be available once sessions reach capacity.
