TOKYO, April 16, 2026 – FUJIFILM Corporation announces that it will commence sales of “instax SPOT™,” a self-service in-store photobooth and print station for the instax™ series of instant cameras, on April 16, 2026, for business operators including entertainment venues, tourist destinations, and retail facilities.
instax SPOT™’s Key Visual
In recent years, at entertainment venues such as amusement parks and movie theaters, as well as at tourist destinations, a growing number of visitors are not only enjoying on-site experiences but also capturing moments on their smartphones and sharing them on social media, further enhancing the value of these “extraordinary” experiences. At the same time, many facilities and tourist sites are facing chronic labor shortages, making it a significant operational burden to assign dedicated staff to visitor-facing services such as photography and product sales.
Fujifilm has focused on both changes in consumer awareness regarding experiential value and the operational challenges faced by facilities and business operators. By making use of the worldview of instax™ and the unique tangible quality and texture of instax™ prints, Fujifilm has developed the in-store photobooth and print station instax SPOT™ as a new solution that allows each visitor to enjoy the fun of taking photos and the joy of sharing memories in physical form, while keeping operational burdens low.
instax SPOT™ not only enhances visitor satisfaction and memorable experiential value, but also enables the entire process—from photo shooting and instax™ print output to payment—to be completed through visitor self-service, enabling labor savings and more efficient operations for business operators.
With instax SPOT™, visitors can enjoy both highly entertaining photo taking using the camera built into the unit and the output of instax™ prints, which can be easily enjoyed even as a single print, all through one device.
In addition to standard photo capture, instax SPOT™ features “instax AiR™,” which incorporates three-dimensional AR effects. AR effects such as sunglasses and hearts are displayed in real time on a person’s face or hands in response to their movements. By moving the body or changing poses, the system creates an interactive experience that naturally brings out smiles as visitors take photos.
Furthermore, visitors can transfer images taken on their smartphones to instax SPOT™ and output them on the spot as instax™ prints. Even visitors who do not own instax™ series cameras or printers can print their favorite photos one by one, allowing anyone to easily experience the enjoyment of instax™ prints.
instax SPOT™ goes beyond being a device simply for taking photos and printing them; it provides an experience in which the act of taking photos itself can be enjoyed as an “event.” In addition, by turning photos taken on-site or memories stored on smartphones into instax™ prints, instax SPOT™ helps make memories of the day come back more vividly to life.
By installing instax SPOT™, operators of entertainment facilities and other venues can provide content that visitors are naturally drawn to try, thereby strengthening their ability to attract visitors and improving visitor flow within the facility. By allowing visitors to preserve their memories in the tangible form of instax™ prints, satisfaction with the facility or event is further enhanced, encouraging repeat visits.
From an operational perspective, instax SPOT™ features a self-service design that completes photo capture, printing, and payment within a single unit, eliminating the need for permanent on-site staff. In addition, by utilizing the operator app*¹, instax SPOT™ Admin, operators can remotely and centrally manage information such as the remaining amount of instax™ film loaded in instax SPOT™ units and their operating status. This significantly reduces operational workload while enabling stable, efficient, and labor-saving operation.
Since 2022, Fujifilm has been offering the event application “instax Biz™” globally as a service for businesses and events compatible with the Link series of smartphone printers. instax SPOT™ integrates a built-in camera, printing, editing, and payment functions into a single unit, enabling self-service instax™ shooting and printing at events. This all-in-one design makes it easy to introduce and operate, even in venues with limited staff or temporary events, thereby contributing to an enhanced visitor experience. As a new in-store solution that advances both “experience” and “operations,” instax SPOT™ is expected to be utilized across a wide range of facilities and events.
Fujifilm will continue to expand the world of the “instax™” instant photo system that allows people to enjoy on-the-spot photo printing.

A high-capacity model capable of holding up to 100 sheets of instax™ film, designed for business operators seeking to provide services at venues expecting a large number of visitors.

A compact model capable of holding up to 40 sheets of instax™ film, offering flexible installation options and designed for business operators seeking an easy-to-deploy solution in locations with limited space.

instax SPOT™ is available in two models: a stand-alone model capable of holding up to 100 sheets of instax™ film, and a compact tabletop model that holds up to 40 sheets. Featuring a space-efficient design*2, both models can be installed in locations where the placement of photo and printing equipment had previously been challenging, making it possible to create a starting point for engaging experiences even in limited spaces.
The unit incorporates a bold design highlighted by a large lens motif symbolic of instax™ cameras, along with signage-inspired elements that evoke the moment when an instax™ print comes out. Accented by a vibrant blue color scheme and illuminated lighting effects on the signage and side panels, the design stands out even from a distance and captures attention, creating a strong presence that makes people think, “What is this?” and “I want to try taking a photo.”
Operation is completed entirely via a touch-panel display, allowing visitors to check the screen while taking photos, as well as easily transfer and print images from their smartphones through intuitive controls. Background music and sound effects play during operation, and pose suggestions and countdown animations appear when taking photos, naturally building excitement and drawing even first-time visitors into the experience.
When printing, an animation gives the impression that the captured image is popping out of the screen, heightening anticipation before the instax™ print is output from the side slot. Rather than ending with the moment the photo is taken, instax SPOT™ delivers an entertaining experience that continues through to the moment the print emerges.
- *2 Installation footprint: Stand-alone model—766 mm × 700 mm; Tabletop model—432 mm × 432 mm. The stand-alone model requires installation in combination with two steel plates (700 mm × 250 mm each) included as accessories.

The “instax SPOT™” features two print modes: “Take a photo & Print” and “Print from your phone”*3 . Visitors can select their preferred mode depending on the moment or situation.
“Take a photo & Print” Mode
Using the built-in camera, visitors can take photos while previewing the image on the display. In a single session, up to six images can be captured, after which visitors can select their favorite image and the number of prints to create instax™ prints.
In addition to standard photo capture, visitors can also choose from decorative frame designs or select instax AiR™, which incorporates three-dimensional AR effects. With instax AiR™, the system recognizes the subject and synchronizes AR effects—such as sunglasses or hearts—in real time with facial expressions and hand movements, with the effects changing each time the visitor moves, naturally heightening the excitement of the experience and bringing out smiles and cheers.
Furthermore, one image selected from the six captured shots can be transferred to the smartphone application instax UP!™ as image data with an instax™ frame, allowing visitors to enjoy both taking home instax™ prints and sharing their memories as digital data.

(3) Remote Management Enables Stable Service Delivery with Minimal Staffing
instax SPOT™ is a photobooth and print station that enables shooting, printing, and payment to be completed entirely through visitor self-service. Via the business operator–dedicated application “instax SPOT™ Admin,” operators can centrally manage a wide range of settings, including service pricing, print formats, remaining instax™ film levels, and the operational status of each unit.
In addition, sales performance data—such as the number of prints produced and the frequency of AR effect usage—can be downloaded and utilized for marketing initiatives, including pricing adjustments and the addition of new content offerings. Notifications are sent to the application when instax™ film levels run low or in the event of system errors, eliminating the need for constant on-site staff supervision and enabling efficient, stable operation with minimal staffing requirements.
instax SPOT™ is the first self-service in-store photobooth and print station in the instax™ series. Through an immersive shooting experience enhanced by three-dimensional AR effects, as well as the ability to instantly turn smartphone images into instax™ prints to take home on the spot, instax SPOT™ delivers distinctive value unique to instax™ that goes beyond the conventional concept of photo booths.
With the promotional message “step out of the booth,” instax SPOT™ embodies the desire to capture not only images taken within a booth, but also the atmosphere of the place and the emotions felt in that moment, all in a single instax™ print. By offering the opportunity to enjoy instax™ prints starting with just one through instax SPOT™, Fujifilm aims to create new touchpoints and deepen engagement with visitors.
Fujifilm has introduced a range of products and services for business use within the instax™ series, including “instax Biz™,” an event-use application compatible with the instax™ Link Series smartphone printers, as well as “Favsquad™,” an online platform application that allows fans to turn images distributed by artists via an app into instax™ prints in their own hands.
With the introduction of instax SPOT™, a self-service, in-store photobooth and print station that enables even visitors who do not own instax™ series products to turn their most cherished moments into instax™ prints, Fujifilm is further expanding the use of instax™ into the business domain. Through these initiatives, the company is broadening the range of business applications for instax™ while allowing more people to experience the brand’s unique appeal—the joy of printing photos instantly, right at the moment they are taken.
Since its original launch in 1998, the instax™ series of instant cameras has embraced trends and evolving technologies with time and expanded its lineup to include not only analog instant cameras, but also hybrid instant cameras using digital technology, smartphone printers and palm-sized digital camera. The instax™ continues to offer diverse ways to enjoy photography, broadening the user base in more than 100 countries.
