FUJIFILM Business Innovation Hong Kong and Red Date Technology Collaborate to Enhance Enterprises Access to Public Blockchain Services

HONG KONG, JANUARY 12, 2023 –  FUJIFILM Business Innovation Hong Kong (FUJIFILM BI HK) and Red Date Technology, the architect of the Blockchain-based Service Network (BSN), will collaborate to enable Hong Kong enterprises to benefit from public blockchain technology, the two companies announced today. 

As a trusted ICT partner specializing in document management and consultancy, FUJIFILM BI HK can help enterprises tokenize digitally signed documents and mint semi-fungible tokens (SFTs) leveraging the BSN Spartan Network. The collaboration aims to tackle the authenticity challenge of documents and automate business processes for enterprises in Hong Kong.

Built by Red Date Technology to bring public blockchain infrastructure to business users, the BSN Spartan Network is a global decentralized cloud service network that consists of non-cryptocurrency public chains for enterprise uses and utilities, without any speculative elements. This means that cryptocurrency-driven price fluctuation is eliminated, and pricing becomes predictable. Companies can then easily integrate blockchain into their traditional clouds, data centers and intranets with effective cost management.

The enormous opportunities of public blockchain commercialization, including smart contracts, are realized via the joint effort of FUJIFILM BI HK and Red Date Technology. The beta testing of document tokenization attracted other business partners of the BSN Spartan Network to exercise the proof of concept (PoC) together, including a global retail banking leader. This completed project demonstrated the automation of payment execution, payment notification and contract termination after SFTs were minted from smart contracts, yielding significant benefits in information security, process efficiency and transaction costs. This application will be suitable for different documents in the future, for example, leasing, insurance, shipping, and trade finance.

In November 2022, FUJIFILM BI HK and Red Date Technology formalized their intention to collaborate at a contract signing ceremony conducted in the metaverse, which was a first for Hong Kong. The alliance announced today extends this relationship to the BSN Spartan Network and may also include the development of other new services in the future.
