Training resources:
  • PowerPoint slideshow
  • Practical application to real or simulated situations
  • Specific equipment: mammograph, MTM100 phantom, plexiglass plate
  • Training supervision: provided by the training manager
  • Instructor: Application engineer, trainer and employee of FUJIFILM Healthcare France SAS
Assessment methods :
  • Initial assessment: test or role-play to assess each trainee's skills and weaknesses.
  • Ongoing assessment of progress (during application exercises): checks on acquisition of the concepts studied and ability to apply them, identification of areas for improvement.
  • Knowledge test at the end of the course.
  • End-of-training certificate issued.
Teaching methods:
  • Theoretical and methodological contributions, with real-life examples illustrating the application of the concepts covered.
  • Individual application of the training with case studies of mammography examinations
  • Case studies, role-playing scenarios: interactive analysis, identification of good/bad approaches and corrections.

DAY 1:Theoretical overview

  • Analysis and answers to the questionnaire

  • Knowledge of the mammography machine's general components
  • Functioning and benefits of the various components of a mammography unit
    Incidences in mammography
  • Operating principles of tomosynthesis and 2D synthetics
  • Lesions and screening
DAY 2: Hands-on mammograph with no patient
(use of a breast phantom)

09h00 - 12h30

  • Switching on & off and startup the machine
  • 2D image acquisition
  • Magnification kit installation
  • Dose reduction and image quality enhancement tools
  • Tomosynthesis (slice acquisition and scrolling)
  • Image processing tools
  • Image and patient file management tools

14h00 - 17h30

  • Presentation of daily quality control (AAPM TG 18 test pattern and use of luxmeter)
  • Presentation of weekly quality control: MTM100, 2D and 3D homogeneity on Plexiglas plate
  • Presentation of monthly quality control: mammograph integrity
  • Cleaning and disinfection of various elements
  • Awareness of energy consumption
  • Awareness of the challenges of personal data confidentiality (RGPD).
