TOKYO, March 18, 2026 – FUJIFILM Corporation announces the development of the 4K broadcast zoom lens “FUJINON UA94x8.7BESM” (hereafter “UA94x8.7”).
The UA94x8.7 is compatible with broadcast cameras equipped with a 2/3-inch sensor and achieves a high-magnification 94x zoom covering a focal length range from wide-angle 8.7mm to super-telephoto 818mm. By covering focal lengths from wide-angle to super-telephoto in a single lens, it enables highly mobile operation and is ideal for diverse scenarios such as sports broadcasting, large-scale events, and concerts. It also supports a wide range of visual expression, from immersive wide-angle shots to close-up images of subjects.
Fujifilm plans to release the UA94x8.7 as a new addition to its lineup of 4K broadcast zoom lenses during 2026. Fujifilm will display the UA94x8.7 as a reference exhibit at “NAB Show 2026,” one of the world’s largest international broadcast equipment exhibitions, to be held in Las Vegas, USA, from April 19 to 22, 2026.

In recent years, within the broadcast industry, demand has been increasing further for efficiently producing high-quality video, particularly for sports broadcasting, large-scale events, and live streaming. As video production styles diversify, broadcast equipment is being used not only for professional applications but also in a broader range of production environments. As a result, demand has been increasing for box-type lenses that offer a good balance of performance, cost-effectiveness, and versatility.
To meet these needs, the UA94x8.7 incorporates Fujifilm’s proprietary vibration control system cultivated through the development and manufacturing of high-end models, as well as high operability during zooming and focusing. It reduces the burden on camera operators and contributes to smooth operation at shooting sites.
Since releasing the world’s first 4K-compatible broadcast lens in 2015, Fujifilm has expanded its lineup to include 8K-compatible broadcast lenses, leading the enhancement of image quality in video production. Together with “FUJINON UA22x4.8BERD,” “FUJINON UA30x7.3BERD,” and “FUJINON UA16x4BERD,” which were announced simultaneously today, Fujifilm will continue to develop and provide high-performance lenses as well as accessories that support comfortable shooting, meeting the diverse needs of video production sites.
