TOKYO, March 18, 2026 – FUJIFILM Corporation (President and CEO, Representative Director: Teiichi Goto) is pleased to announce the broadcast zoom lens “FUJINON UA22x4.8BERD” (hereafter “UA22x4.8”), a versatile broadcast zoom lens in a portable form factor, that offers a wide zoom range. Initial shipments of the UA22x4.8 are expected to begin at the end of March 2026.
UA22x4.8 is a portable zoom lens for 2/3-inch broadcast cameras, covering a full range of 4.8-106mm in a compact and lightweight body measuring 251mm and weighing 2.17kg. This lens provides the versatility to work effectively in a variety of situations, such as remote news gathering where portability is crucial and sports broadcasting where camera operators can be flexible in capturing all of the exciting moments and different perspectives of a game, from wherever they are around the field of play.
There is strong demand for versatile zoom lenses that can cover everything from wide angle establishing shots to telephoto detail shots to effectively create a cohesive visual story using a single lens in a difficult or time-sensitive environment. To meet this demand, we released the “FUJINON UA18x5.5BERD” (hereafter “UA18x5.5”) broadcast zoom lens in 2017. This lens has been well-regarded for its compact size, light weight, and versatile zoom range.
The newly developed “UA22x4.8” shares many of the features of the “UA18x5.5”, such as its compact body, lightweight design, and versatile zoom range. Through advancements in optical design technology, we have taken an approach that balances durability and lightweight construction to minimize any increases in size or weight compared to the previous “UA18x5.5”. This helps to reduce the burden of prolonged shoulder-mounted camera operation. Additionally, while the “UA18x5.5” offers a zoom range of 5.5-100mm, the “UA22x4.8” provides a wider range of 4.8-106mm. This expanded zoom range enables filming in narrow indoor spaces while also being able to capture dynamic sports highlights in incredible detail.
The newly released “FUJINON UA22x4.8” will be showcased at NAB Show 2026, the world’s largest international broadcast equipment trade show, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA from April 19-21, 2026.
Fujifilm has continuously leveraged its advanced optical technology, developed over many decades, to manufacture and supply high-performance broadcast lenses, cinema lenses, and accessories. Along with the previously announced “FUJINON UA16x4BERD”, “FUJINON UA30x7.3BERD”, and “FUJINON UA94x8.7BESM”, Fujifilm will continue to address the evolving needs of frontline video professionals.
