Fujifilm Launches Hybrid Instant Camera “instax mini LiPlay+^™”

TOKYO, October 14, 2025 – FUJIFILM Corporation announces the launch of a hybrid instant camera “instax mini LiPlay+^™” (“mini LiPlay+”) on October 30, 2025 onwards. Additionally, a camera case matching the body color and the mini format film “SOFT GLITTER” featuring soft tones gradations decorated with gold accents will be released simultaneously.

The “mini LiPlay+” is a premium model of the globally popular hybrid instant camera “instax mini LiPlay^™” (“mini LiPlay”), evolving its “combination of sound and images” to provide a more emotional experience. The “mini LiPlay” is a hybrid instant camera incorporating digital technology and supporting the card-size mini format film. It allows users to take pictures with viewing the LCD monitor on the back of the camera and select their favorite images to print. Also, it can be used as a smartphone printer. Its signature “Sound feature” can record up to 10 seconds of audio, convert that audio data into a QR code, and print it alongside your photo on an instax^™ print. This feature is popular for conveying messages to loved ones on birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions.
The newly released “mini LiPlay+” features the popular functions of the “mini LiPlay” and is equipped with the first selfie camera in the instax^™ series, allowing users to easily take selfies with friends and family while checking the monitor on the back of the camera. The new “Layered Photo Mode” enables users to overlay a selfie taken with the selfie-camera onto a background image captured with the main camera. By combining facial expressions with the surrounding scenery, it creates an instax^™ print filled with memories, vividly bringing back the emotions and atmosphere of the moment captured. Additionally, the “instax Sound Album^™” feature allows users to compile up to 10 sound-embedded images into a slideshow-style video with background music tailored to a chosen theme. By revisiting memories captured alongside voices and sounds recorded at the time of shooting, users can more deeply enjoy the fun of the moment and the sense of togetherness with friends and family.

In the dedicated app^*1, the popular “Direct Print function” from “mini LiPlay”, which allows users to print images taken with their smartphones, has been further enhanced. Users can now add voice messages to smartphone photos and turn them into instax^™ prints, transforming casual everyday moments into special memories.

Fujifilm will continue to expand the world of the instax^™ instant photo system that allows people to enjoy on-the-spot photo printing.

The camera body comes in two colors: SAND BEIGE and MIDNIGHT BLUE. It features a luxurious and elegant design with metallic materials used around the shutter button and lens.

Equipped with the first selfie camera in the instax^™ series, allowing users to easily take selfies with friends and family while checking the monitor on the back of the camera. The selfie camera features a wide-angle lens, making it possible to capture group shots with ease.
The new “Layered Photo Mode” uses both the selfie camera and main camera lenses to overlay a selfie taken with the selfie-camera onto a background image captured with the main camera. By combining facial expressions with the surrounding scenery, it creates an instax^™ print filled with memories, vividly bringing back the emotions and atmosphere of the moment captured.

By selecting up to 10 sound-embedded images and adding background music that matches the theme or mood, users can create a slideshow-style video of up to 30 seconds. The created video is converted into a QR code and can be printed together with the selected cover image. The QR code can be scanned with a smartphone QR code reader to play or download the video^*2. Sharing these instax^™ prints allows recipients to revisit shared memories anytime, deepening emotional connections.

Users can choose between two print modes to suit their creative preferences:
“instax-Natural Mode^™”, which offers the soft and gentle tones unique to instax^™ prints, and “instax-Rich Mode^™”, which delivers more vibrant and expressive colors.

• The newly added “instax Sound Print^™” allows users to add voice messages to smartphone photos and turn them into instax^™ prints. Through the dedicated app, users can also select background music that matches the theme of the images and create “instax Sound Album^™” videos. In addition to 10 preset tracks across five themes, users can use their own recorded audio as original background music.
• The camera includes 13 built-in design frames, which can be replaced with over 60 frame options available in the app.
• Images printed with the “mini LiPlay+” can also be saved to a smartphone as instax^™ prints, with customizable backgrounds and colors for easy sharing on social media.

The “mini LiPlay+” introduces the first selfie camera in the instax^™ series, enabling users to create prints that combine a selfie with a background image using the new “Layered Photo Mode”.  With the newly added “instax Sound Album^™”, users can revisit memories captured alongside voices and sounds recorded at the time of shooting. The promotional tagline “Sounds like adventure” expresses our hope that users capture and share their memories through sound and instax^™ prints. The tagline is used online, on social media and at stores to communicate the appeal of the “mini LiPlay+” to as many people as possible.
