Environmental Sustainability

Following on from our parent company FUJIFILM Holdings' support for the Recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD); in April 2019, FUJIFILM Holdings, joined RE100, an international initiative led by The Climate Group in partnership with the global environmental impact non-profit CDP. RE100 is a global corporate leadership initiative bringing together more than 400 influential businesses committed to sourcing 100% renewable energy for their global business operations by 2050. FUJIFILM Holdings has also set an additional interim target of 50% renewable energy by 2030. Doing our part to promote environmental sustainability, FUJIFILM Business Innovation Australia is well on track to meet this target, as we already source 50% Australian government accredited GreenPower for our electricity contracts.

About FUJIFILM Business Innovation’s Approach to Environmental Sustainability

FUJIFILM Holdings has now announced, in January 2022, new climate action targets.

  • Fujifilm Group will be fully operating on carbon-free energy [direct emission from the company at the manufacturing stage of the product (Scope 1) and the indirect emission due to the use of electricity/steam supplied from other companies (Scope 2)] and achieve net zero CO2 emissions by the Fiscal Year ending March 2041 (FY2040).
  • Fujifilm Group will also reduce CO2 emissions across the entire product life cycle from the procurement of raw materials to manufacturing, transportation, use and disposal by 50% (compared to FY2019 levels) by FY2030.

To achieve these and other targets, FUJIFILM Group will focus on a new Green Value Climate Strategy and continue to deliver Green Value Products.

For more actions and measures, refer to the Sustainable Value Plan 2030.

As we strive towards environmental sustainability, we are very proud that for 2022, FUJIFILM Holdings was named on the CDP A List, as a leader on Climate Change and Water Security. Read more about FUJIFILM Holdings recognition.
