Server-less Authentication

Server-less Authentication

Shares user authentication information between linked printers.

What is “Server-less Authentication”?

Server-less Authentication is an application that can be installed on multifunction device or printer, allowing you to share the user information for authentication with multiple devices so that you can register a smart card or authenticate using whichever linked device under the server-less environment.

  • * Enabling this function requires “Server-less Authentication Kit”.
Feature of “Server-less Authentication”

User authentication information is shared from the device set as the parent device to all linked devices by using the smart
card registration function to register the association between the user authentication information registered in the device and the ID information on the smart card. Once the information is shared, it can be used by any linked device through authentication operations. There is no need to set up a dedicated server to link devices, which reduces costs.

Integration with Active Directory Server
It is also possible to be linked with the user information saved on an Active Directory server.

Note: An optional Sever-less Authentication Kit is required on each shared device.
