Established the Circular Manufacturing Center to Promote Resource Circulation in the Asia-Pacific region

FUJIFILM Business Innovation has established the Circular Manufacturing Center (CMC) at FUJIFILM Optics Philippines Inc. (FOPH) in Laguna, Philippines. The center aims to promote resource circulation in the Asia Pacific region through the production of remanufactured machines. Operations are scheduled to commence in August 2026.

Resource Circulation

FUJIFILM Business Innovation Asia Pacific launched two remanufactured*1 A3 colour digital multifunction printers, ApeosPort-VI C5571 R and C3371 R from the ApeosPort-VI C series on 15th September. The printers were developed based on the principle of treating used products as valuable resources instead of as waste.
In a circular economy, it is paramount to maintain the quality and consistency of materials used in recycled products. FUJIFILM Business Innovation is committed to sustainable development and has been bolstering its environmental strategy with various initiatives, such as collecting used products from users to adopt a closed-loop system. The remanufactured printer series reduce environmental impact with their parts reuse rate of 84% (by weight), and CO2 emissions reduced to 56% as compared to newly manufactured printers*2 throughout their product lifecycles.

  • *1 Remanufactured product is made by used products which are collected from users. The product is disassembled and cleaned. Parts that do not meet a certain quality standard are replaced.

Virtually 100% renewable energy is now used for electricity at all production sites in the Asia-Pacific region.

FUJIFILM Business Innovation announces that it has switched the electricity used*1 at all its production sites in the Asia-Pacific region to virtually 100% renewable energy. This was made possible by the implementation of energy-saving and energy-generation initiatives at each site, supplemented by renewable energy certificates*2 to cover any remaining shortfall.
This shift reduces CO₂ emissions by approximately 8,391*3 tons, contributing to climate change mitigation. The production sites included in this initiative are FUJIFILM Manufacturing Shenzhen Corp., FUJIFILM Manufacturing Hai Phong Co., Ltd., and FUJIFILM Eco-Manufacturing (Suzhou) Corp.

  • *1 In fiscal year 2024, approximately 17,757 MWh of electricity was consumed.
  • *2 Certificates that represent the added value of renewable energy (zero CO₂ emissions) separately from the electricity itself and link it to the amount of electricity consumed.
  • *3 CO₂ emissions from electricity generation in fiscal year 2024 were calculated using a market-based approach, applying the CO₂ emission factor per kWh disclosed by power companies.
Making Use of the Certificate of Green Power

Making use of the certificate of green power (issued by Japan Natural Energy Co., Ltd.), we used renewable energy for the following initiatives since fiscal year 2015.

  • FUJIFILM SUPER CUP
  • All Japan High School Soccer Tournament
  • Power consumption when using a CocoDesk installed in a train station, inside a building, or in the city center.
  • The power consumption when using the production printer.*
  • Power consumption when using ‘Green Park FLOOP’
