Color & Proofing

Building on Fujifilm's reputation of color expertise and proofing excellence

Overview

The Epson Stylus™ Pro 880-890 series offers industry-leading output quality, withprint resolutions of up to 2880 x 1440dpi. This is achieved as the result of technologies including Variable Sized Droplet Technology, which supports ink droplets as small as 3.5pl, and Advanced Meniscus Control, which enables the printer to deliver sharp, accurately placed spherical ink droplets with high levels of precision.

New Image Processing Technology- Epson large format printers have long been leaders in delivering exceptional quality prints. With the introduction of the Epson Stylus Pro 880-890 series, this leadership has been given even greater emphasis. Featuring new algorithms for improved dot placement, the Epson Stylus Pro 880-890 series delivers higher image quality than previous models, in both high and low print resolution modes.

Micro Piezo™ Print Head- Underpinning the Epson Stylus Pro 880-890 series industry-leading quality is the incredible control over ink droplet size, shape and placement. This is achieved by means of the printer’s Micro Piezo™ print head, which uses a unique method of controlling the ink meniscus (surface) in each of the eight color channels. The result is perfectly rounded ink droplets of various sizes – larger sizes for solid color areas and smaller droplets for gradation, toning and detail – delivered with absolute precision.

Overview

By combining the precision of MicroPiezo TFPTM print head with the extraordinary performance of Epson UltraChrome HDR Ink, the newest generation of Epson Stylus Pro printers continues to represent a level of technology unprecedented in Epson's history.

Epson UltraChrome HDR represents the latest generation of pigment ink technology. Now utilizing ten colors — including an all-new Orange and Green — Epson UltraChrome HDR Ink produces the widest color gamut ever from an Epson Stylus Pro printer. Even more remarkable, combining Epson UltraChrome HDR Ink with the new Epson AccuPhoto™ HDR screening technology dramatically raises the level of print quality and once again sets a new benchmark standard for photographic reproduction.

Developed in partnership with X-Rite, Epson has incorporated an optional, high performance, in-line spectrophotometer. When driven by the latest front-end RIPs, Epson SpectroProofer™ can automate any color management process in your commercial proofing workflow.

With printers capable of handling virtually any media type, in roll or cut sheet, up to 24 or 44 inches wide, Epson sets the standard for professional media use. Whether producing sellable color or black-and white photography, fine art reproduction, or producing color accurate commercial and flexographic proofs for client approvals, never before have Creative Professionals had such powerful tools, allowing them to produce their vision without compromise.

With every introduction of a new Epson Stylus Pro printer, they continue to innovate and refine the overall experience. With the introduction of the latest Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and 9900 printers, Epson is once again redefining what’s possible from photographic ink jet printing.
